Hello Spice,
Version: version 2024.01.001.1728367438391
I am working on building a knowledge book and I wish to add videos in the local file directory in mp4 format – vs. linking to a youtube video for example — the intention is that the resources (images and videos and files) are all local and thus contained within the application.
When i attempt to upload an .mp4 the file in my finder is greyed out - an image will uploaded successful - I assume the file time is not acceptable.
Before we customize - I just wanted to see if this was a configurable item in the UI - i was not able to see anything in my exploration.
Thanks.
How large is you file?
Do you see any error in the console log?
There is no option to upload - the ‘select’ button is greyed out - and if i drag and drop - it is not recognized.
mp4 very small - 10 MB was my test file
see video
media file is currently meant only for images.
In order to publish a video you need your video to be in youtube anyway. In the Richtext editor you can only add a youtube player.
Hello Val,
Ok - thanks
Issue that i have with this is that when making a knowledgebase articles- it would be ideal to make a permanent video link - and youtube is subject to change external to the CRM – eg. an employee has their own youtube channel where the video is uploaded - and employee account is remove and then no video is gone -so broken knowledge base article - ideally one should be able to embed a video from an mp4 in the local file system ----
future – feature request
I have the same issue in the SpiceCRM knowledgebase
